Bill Gates donates more than $ 750 million for AIDS foundation

The former president of Microsoft , Bill Gates announced he would donate another $ 750 million (about $ 1.28 billion) to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and malaria. These diseases mainly punish the poorest countries in the world.

Gates stepped away from Microsoft for a long time, and now works with his wife in his company Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation , which is dedicated to charity. In fact, it is no longer the richest man in the world because of their donations. And since 2004, the foundation has invested $ 26 billion (U.S. $ 44.38 billion) on philanthropy.

The executive said he will donate 90% of his fortune for these purposes and said he does not want his children to live exclusively on inheritance. Soon, with the death of Steve Jobs, his longtime friend and partner, he has a reason to accelerate the donations - even if not a good friend of Jobs for most of his life.

At 56, Bill Gates realized that old age is coming, especially with the death of his former companion. Now he plans to devote more time to philanthropy. "It reminds me that I need to devote more important things," he said. "My time is running out."

Its foundation invests heavily in creating new drugs against diseases such as malaria. However, the delay for such a drug is ready is large. The expectation is that they are ready at least two decades.

Online Degree Programs Becoming More Popular

For the first time this year, U.S. News and World Report ranked online colleges in their own section among their well-known college and university rankings. This is one of the most evident signs that online education is becoming more popular across the U.S. and all around the world.

There are a number of reasons behind the growing popularity of online colleges. One of the main reasons it that it provides students with the flexibility to take classes on their own schedule. Those who work during the day or take care of children can take classes on evenings and weekends. Many online colleges also offer accelerated options for those who want to complete their degree fast.

Another benefit is the cost. Online colleges tend to cost less than traditional colleges and universities because students don`t have to pay for room and board. Sometimes course materials will be digital as well, which cuts down on the cost of textbooks. And since online college lets students learn in their own homes, it cuts out the money and time spent to commute to classes. Contrary to popular belief, online colleges also offer many of the same financial aid options that can be found at traditional colleges, so that students can still get help to fund their educations.

One of the most popular online degrees is in education. U.S. News even created a specific section devoted to the best online grad schools for education, many of which are digital branches of the nation`s top education programs. There are many types of education degrees, from bachelor`s degrees for those just starting school to master`s degrees for teachers who want to advance in their careers. Online master`s students can even specialize in a specific area, such as special education or educational technology. For more information about getting a master`s degree in teaching, you should visit the site Masters in Teaching.

Earning a degree online from an accredited institution will provide you with a degree that`s just as well recognized as one from a brick-and-mortar institution. You will have challenging coursework, online interaction with teachers and peers, and even practicum experiences such as student teaching that can be organized through a local branch of your online college.
